Paint Protection Film (PPF or Clearbra)

What is – Paint Protection Film
PPF or clearbra is designed with a sole purpose – to protect your car from the environment and adversities of everyday use. PPF is an 8 mil thick clear film that can have a gloss or matte finish. It can be applied directly on top of painted surfaces of your car, or on top of a vinyl wrap. PPF will guard your car from rock chips, negative effects of UV light, and tar/grease. Protected surfaces are also easier to keep clean thanks to its lower surface energy

Material

At Aegis, we use Xpel Ultimate and Xpel Stealth for our PPF projects. As a bonus to using this film we have access to DAP software which is made to allow for knifeless installation. It is a fascinating software that cuts the PPF to precisely fit different body parts of your car.

Process

  • STEP ONE

    1

    Before starting the application process we bring your car exterior to a pristine condition. We use a multi-stage washing process to ensure the surface of your car is tidy and fully decontaminated.

  • STEP TWO

    2

    Individual custom-tailored pieces are cut on the plotter. The surface of the car is double checked for cleanliness. Since we are using DAP, we almost never have to remove any hardware off your car aside from the license plate.

  • STEP THREE

    3

    The installation process is dramatically different in comparison to vinyl wrap film, but the rules are very similar – climate and contamination control, use of proper tools and solutions.

  • STEP FOUR

    4

    After installation is complete we perform a meticulous quality control procedure. This time the final result has to be invisible.

    As a final step, the vehicle is left in a climate-controlled environment for 12 hours to ensure proper curing of PPF. After that, a final quality control check over is performed and the vehicle is ready for the road.

What is – Vinyl wrap
Vinyl wrap is designed to provide you flexibility when it comes to customizing and personalizing the look of your car while protecting the original finish. Wrapping your car will give you endless options to choose from such as colour, finish, design and printable patterns. Creativity is the only limit, and if you don’t happen to be very creative then don’t worry – we can help you with that! When you decide that it’s time for a change, we can remove your wrap and you can pick a new look.

    Firstly

    Before starting the application process, we bring the exterior of your car to a pristine condition. We use a multi-stage washing process to ensure the surface of your car is tidy and fully decontaminated.

  • STEP TWO

    We pride ourselves in our ability to work around most of the hardware while still maintaining perfect quality and full coverage. However, if necessary, we have certified technicians to disassemble your car.

  • STEP THREE

    When the car is clean and necessary hardware is off, the magic transformation begins, – the art of manipulating a flat piece of vinyl into the shape of your car. Our facility is set up to allow for proper climate control, contamination control and we have all the latest tools to work on your vehicle.

  • STEP FOUR

    After installation is complete, we put all removed hardware back on the car and perform a meticulous quality control check as part of our routine. A critical protocol that we pursue is ensuring that the wrap is indistinguishable from a painted finish.

  • STEP FIVE

    5

    We then let the car sit in our climate controlled shop for 12 hours to ensure proper curing of the film. After that, we perform another quality check before the vehicle is ready to go.

Ceramic Pro

What is – Ceramic Pro
Glossy, slick and self-cleaning. This nanotechnology allows the Ceramic nanoparticles to fill the smallest pores in the paint, vinyl and PPF which makes the Ceramic Pro glass shield shiny, smooth and extremely slick and hydrophobic. Ceramic Pro dramatically lowers the surface energy preventing environmental contaminants such as bird droppings, bugs, dirt, tar and graffiti paint from bonding to the surface. Water easily removes dirt from the surface by encapsulating it while rolling off the surface. This is called the self-cleaning effect.

    First of all, car is taken through a multi-stage washing procedure to ensure perfect cleanliness.

  • STEP TWO

    Exterior of the car is inspected for paint imperfection.

  • STEP THREE

    Once the vehicle is prepped, a prep solvent will be applied to the entire car to get to bare paint.

  • STEP FOUR

    4

    Coating process begins. Each pane; of the vehicle will have Ceramic Pro applied, leveled and stacked to achieve the package you have selected.

  • STEP FIVE

    5

    After the coating process is complete, the car is kept in climate controlled environment for 12 hours to allow initial curing of ceramic pro.
